Two shops in one

Guest and account path comparison

A side-by-side examination of guest checkout and signed-in checkout, including saved addresses, wallets, and order history that only one path can see.

Many e-commerce applications are two shops sharing a catalogue. Guest checkout often uses a shorter rule set: different shipping quotes, a different wallet, a different fraud check, and a different order confirmation. We run both paths on the same SKUs in the same week and record where they diverge.

The comparison is useful before a login-wall change, after a wallet launch, or when chargebacks cluster on one path. You receive a difference table and a recommendation on which path to treat as the system of record for money.

We do not redesign the account experience. We say, in writing, whether both paths can be trusted to produce the same sale.
